Mickey Bell - Host

Southern Gospel music has always been a part of the life of Mickey Bell.  From the moment he was taken to his first concert at the age of two weeks... his life has never been the same.

All through his childhood days, Mickey always planned to be involved with this industry by traveling with various groups.  He had the privilege of playing on stage with such artists as New GroundThe Steeles, Tony Gore & Majesty and The Nelons.

He got his first taste of Southern Gospel radio at the age of 14 when he rode his motorcycle to WVSM in Rainsville, Alabama.  Another radio stint would come after coming off the road when Mickey got some national recognition.  He was nominated in the Top 5 for the Singing News Fan Awards Favorite DJ.  He was also given the "Paul Heil  Award" from the SGN Scoops Diamond Award.

His work in broadcasting career would continue with his work in television as a producer with the CBS affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama.  While there, Mickey was named on 8 different Associated Press awards including "Best Produced Show" and "Best Produced Special Program".  From that moment until now Mickey has had an ear for great radio and what the audience wants from a program.  You will enjoy his unique style and great humor plus his knowledge of the gospel music industry.  You will laugh at and with Mickey as he leads you each week through two hours of "This Week in Gospel Music".
